- Go to Bush Explains Seeming Discrepancy Between Iraq and Korea Policies
Respect and coexistence with non-Christians?
Of course, but what to do when any party, Christian or otherwise, refuses to respond to such gestures in kind? The Islamofascists have no interest at all in respecting or coexisting with anyone outside their own extremely narrow and rigid belief system. They prefer annihilation for such infidels.

WriterofLight, I appreciate your asking in this way. I will get back becaus
you did not address the immediate issues that canceled the work begun with Iran and especially North Korea, when we let our hate-speech invade the work of diplomacy. Until we accept the world has non-Christians whom we must respect and co-exist with, the darker races see how we deal with "Europeans" versus "non-Europeans". Look at history, meanwhile, to find out if every war is NOT really a war over spoils/resources/land... belonging to others. Shalom my brother (even if you do not see me as one)

OK, but more questions are in order.
Why was Japan being deprived of raw materials? Could it have been due to their aggression that dated back to their 1937 invasion of China? And how does their being deprived of raw materials justify Pearl Harbor?

Thanks for r generous invite; the only person one changes at all is oneself
In 1941, Japan was pushed by being deprived of raw materials. We would go to war if our raw materials suppliers control their national rsources too well. Hence our 90 year policy in the Middle East has a consistency. Did North Korea and Iran ask the prez to talk of crusades and "axis of evil"?

And, yes, FW . . .
As a conservative who is not given over to liberal ambivalence, I do indeed really believe what I write. Keep reading, perhaps you'll come around just as I did years ago.

FW, what I advocate . . .
is reporters asking
intelligent and
accurate questions that reflect understanding of current events and are free of editorializing and hype. It is rare, but it does happen. This guy failed miserably on this front.

Jane was way short on her figure for what has been reported so far, it's actually 500 or more sarin and mustard gas shells. Read 'em and weep, good buddy.

Welcome, Ypunday!
Glad to have your thoughts on this. Also glad to dissect them for you:
"Democracy needs well-read citiznes and inquiring minds."
AMEN!
And that means having the intellectual honesty to examine and weigh fairly and objectively all sides of the issue, including that of the opposing party. Unfortunately, too many people on both sides refuse or fail to do this.
"pEACRE demands it, othewise oil companies and arms manufacturers will tell us when to make war (about once every decade, anywhere)."
We also demand good spelling, but we won't go into that here. Be that as it may, please answer this: How did the oil companies and arms manufacturers tell us to make war in December 1941? Seems to me the Japanese and the Nazis had something to do with that. And this as well: How did these business entities tell us to make war in September 2001? As in December 1941, they did not. War was brought to us by those who chose to be our enemies, who chose to commit acts of war against us in violation of international law and our national security.
"Democracy needs people like you when you can keep accurate quotes, and facts, and respect those who disagree with peace and diplomacy as means to solve international problems. I agree with the President on North Korea. I can even make a vase for why he was RIGHT to attack the Taliban and its goons in Afghanistan "
So what do you put in that vase? (Okay, I'm teasing!) I'm not sure I follow that first sentence, as I know of no one in power here who would "disagree with peace and diplomacy as means to solve international problems." Indeed, that is the preferred means of doing so. The problem arises when diplomacy fails, as it did in Afghanistan and Iraq and may well do so in Iran and North Korea.

Huh, but Damon, there were chemical warheads found in Iraq.
Weren't there 150 or so? Oh, but right, that doesn't count I guess. Must be a report that Bush and his cronies cooked up to make themselves look good.
Yeah, Writeroflight, I for one DO remember the resolutions the UN passed, which other nations agreed to. Quite frankly, I think the UN is quickly making itself completely irrelevent. I say the US should stop funding this world body, and kick them off the property. I'm sure we can come up with a better use for the money, the least of which would be to pay down our own debt.

Do you actually believe what you write?
Bush never answered the question! "Words mean different things to different people?????" What in the heck does that mean? What's next? Are you advocating reporters not being able to ask questions? Are you sure you wouldn't be happier in the former (or current) Soviet Union, where the media is controlled by the government????

I Can't Believe...
...you're still banging on about the Iraqi "WMD threat" two years after that entire myth was blown away by the fact that...er....there were no WMDs in Iraq!!
And what a short memory your president has! If it was really 15-zero on the Iraqi invasion, why were French fries in Texas suddenly renamed Freedom Fries??

Writer,
you're right about this 'people tell us' business! What they really mean when they say that is that it came up at the office water cooler!
