I Haven't...
...forgotten 9/11 at all. I was in America when it happened. And since then, the tragedy has been ruthlessly hijacked by your "president" intent on pursuing his own, narrow, PNAC agenda, regardless of the facts.
Let me see - how many of the 9/11 hijackers were Iraqi?
Answer - none!
And yet Iraq is the country to get illegally invaded.
How many of them were Saudis?
Answer - 15!
And Saudi continues to be a favoured trading partner, while the Bushes and the Sauds continue to carve out ever more wealth for themselves via the vehicle of the Carlyle Group (among others).
Anything strike you as a bit weird about this picture???
Here's another question - how many people died on 9/11?
The accepted answer is around 3,000 - y'all care deeply about them, but deeply enough to add a few on or miss a few off in order to get a headline figure!
And how many have died in Iraq since the invasion? Anywhere between 50,000 and 250,000, but unknown because America took the decision not to bother their arses counting. Of those, around
40,000 have been killed via western military intervention.
Can you guys even spell 'disproportionate'? And you wonder why the Israelis, who you merrily fund and arm, are behaving the way they are today? They're following your example, that's why! (Or vice versa, maybe).
You seem to think that 9/11 was the start, or that the embassy bombings were the start, or that the USS Cole was the start. When will you finally come to realise that they were the
results of American action abroad - unexpected consequences is perhaps the kindest way of putting it? 9/11 has been siezed on as a cause, when in actual fact it was an effect. Sadly, America is too blind to recognise this simple fact, and Americans have allowed the Shrub to con them into believing that the invasion of Iraq was to stop another 9/11.
Guess what, folks? The invasion of Iraq will cause more 9/11s, I'm sorry to say. It already has - Madrid, Bali, London - and this will go on and on. And Bush has no interest in calling a halt - his pals in the arms industry are doing far too nicely out of the mayhem, thank you very much.
Wake up, people. This isn't Hollywood.

Anytime
You are welcome anytime for a site visit. There is so much to see over here. I haven't even had a chance to see everything yet......too busy blogging

No, seriously....have started an International Real Estate Brokerage company, I'm a third Partner.....I manage....my other two partners are mostly silent partners and are the financial backers. Keeps me pretty busy. It is a big change from Government Contracting and supporting the war efforts, but I was ready for a change and I still dabble on a consulting basis with supporting government contracts. Real Estate has always been a passion of mine. When I was in Louisville, I stayed at the most amazing bed a breakfast place called "The Inn"......it was 100yrs old Victorian style house....a couple lived there and managed it......they told me that the crew from NBC stays there every year for the Kentucky Derby. It was beautiful there.

Wow...that is amazing
It is a small world! I visited Kentucky once and I loved it! It is so beautiful and GREEN
I see too much desert and sand now, but Dubai is getting there! I was in Louisville, Kentucky and Greensborough (spelling?) Alot of famous NASCAR driver's are from around that area.
I was in Iraq for 6 months, Kuwait for 2 years and now I officially live in Dubai, but travel to the US frequently. I'm originally from Florida......so this desert climate is not too rough for me.
If I may ask, what type of busiiness do you do now? You should come to Dubai for a visit one of these days! You will have a fellow American to take you under her wing!

Dubai is a great place. Alot of Americans are investing here and developing here. Most people in the US don't know, but the largest US Naval port is here in Dubai. I had to really control myself after all of the misconception and mis information given about the DP World Port Deal. Good Grief....how stupid did the US look on that one? It was all politics.....blaming Pres Bush for trying to do under handed deal witht the Arab World.....that is such B.S.

America needs to be protected
As a proud Republican ....I would like to comment on this subject and also note that I am a proud Supporter of our US President....thank God he has balls and takes a stand on terrorism....I would like to comment on some of your previous statements that I have cut and pasted and highlighted in red. I served 11 yrs at a US Air Base and since have been in the Balkans and Iraq. I'm currently in Dubai and truly wish the media would report what is really going on with the war and educate the masses in America about the rest of the world instead of living in a closed box.
Everyone accepts you can bomb a terrorist hideout.
But bombing a civilian wedding, or raping a woman, or killing an entire family in cold blood, including children. There are unfortunate casualites of war and most of these "civilian weddings" are of terrorists groups and are targeted for the right reasons. What about what happened at the world trade center how many innocent people lost their lives? How many more will lose their lives in the future if we keep a blind eye and keep down sizing on our National Security Efforts? About Raping......what about what happened with Jessica Lynch? What about the beheadings of our innocent US Reporters and contractors in Iraq? When you are dealing with animals who do not recognize or accept the Geneva Convention.....what should you do, play fair? I think we have been more than fair.
Likewise with prisoners. Everyone accepts you need to incarcerate dangerous individuals to stop them doing dangerous things. However, along with that comes a responsibility to prove that they are dangerous. Should we prove they are innocent after they have waved white flags with bombs strapped to their bodies.....yes....Iraqi woman do this waving white flags and they use their children to do this too. And when we have intel to the fact they use things like this as decoys...it makes it more dangerous to just accept or assume they are automatically innocent until proven guilty....we lose more of our own soldiers that way.
So when a government decides to incarcerate several hundred people just for being in the wrong place, dressed in the wrong stuff, at the wrong time, and never bothers its arse to prove a damn thing then, once again, most people would argue that that is simply unacceptable in civilized society. Several thousand of our Americans died in 9/11 becuase they were at the wrong place at the wrong time. Please don't always assume that our Government is going in blindly and bombing things for no reason, the media would love for you to play into that. I'm not saying two wrongs make a right, but we need to be damn sure our priorities are straight and protect our future generation in America.
El Presidente thinks he can just do what the fuck he likes, as long as he can make some tenuous link back to his phoney 'war on terror' to keep the fearful mass of sheep bleating along behind him. It is sad to see that you feel this way about our President and the people who support him. I support him because I have seen the mass grave site pictures, the Kurdish children's dead bodies that were victims of Saddam Hussains chemical attacks. So many things that would make you sad to think that a human being could do these types of things....if you are so concerned about the rights of other people in other Countries of war and terrorism....maybe it should be for all of the past victims....woman, children and innocent men of Saddam Hussain and there was a lot more of that coming if he wasn't stopped.....to include some of our own innocent Americans. Saddam was no different than Hitler and he needed to be stopped.....proof of weapons of mass destruction or not.....he was plotting along with the best of them to destroy our safety and security of Amercican Citizens.

My name's not Sigh...
it's Corbin.......
That may be your issue....to each his own.......
My issue is wanting to see another 9-11 prevented............it's amazing to me that while the form of treachery varies slightly from case to case....liberals always manage to take the position that most undermines American security.

Sigh,
the issue is that you cannot stop terrorism by reigning terror and trampling human rights all over the world. We become what we abhor

Hmmmm???
I am giving sample of cartoons.....satirical cartoons floating around blogs........
As to your comment, two things........
One, if what the government is doing prevents plots like the one discovered in NYC about bombing the tunnels, I could give a rats ass if some Liberal is offended somewhere. As always with the liberal line.....things are blown out of proportion to suit your needs.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself" -- John Stuart Mill
Two, I think you should wish we were getting paid by the number of words in the comment section instead of clicks......then everyone would love seeing you stop by...........

It's Interesting...
...how this (and other) issues are tackled with much hoop-lah and gnashing of teeth - so much so, in fact, that the underlying issue is completely missed. Could this be a coincidence, or is it a deliberate attempt to obfuscate the core issue with a smokescreen of noise?
The core issue, my dear Corbin, has nothing to do with terrorists or the so-called war on terror. Indeed, I'm sure the US government has plenty of mechanisms in place to stop the press reporting on real issues of national security. They certainly do here - D Notices are just one of them.
The reason this story was brought to light by the NYT, as I understand it, is not that the US government are tracking suspected terrorist funds through tapping into confidential banking records. After all, that's a VERY obvious thing to do, and any serious terror organisation has thought that one through quite carefully, and has it well covered.
No, the REAL story here is that the US government is taking the opportunity to track thousands, if not millions of peoples banking activities, using the 'war on terror' as a convenient excuse for yet another breach of civilized western norms.
Everyone accepts you can bomb a terrorist hideout.
But bombing a civilian wedding, or raping a woman, or killing an entire family in cold blood, including children, is seen by most people outside of the USA as several steps too far.
Likewise with prisoners. Everyone accepts you need to incarcerate dangerous individuals to stop them doing dangerous things. However, along with that comes a responsibility to prove that they are dangerous.
So when a government decides to incarcerate several hundred people just for being in the wrong place, dressed in the wrong stuff, at the wrong time, and never bothers its arse to prove a damn thing then, once again, most people would argue that that is simply unacceptable in civilized society.
Similarly with phone tapping. Do it to the bad guys, following the decades-old procedures, and you'll have the support of everyone.
Flout the procedures, and do it to a far wider population, 'fishing' for anything you can use, and you'll undermine the trust of the population, and be accused of massively over-extending your powers.
And it's exactly the same with tracking banking activities.
Our societies were built on the premise that each person has a basic right to privacy; that each is presumed innocent until proven guilty; and that most people live good, blameless lives, and just want to go about their business, put food on the table for their family, and kick back at the weekends. The problem with the Bush regime, with his Guantanamo, his Patriot Acts, his phoney war and all the rest of it, is that he's turning those foundations on their head - now, privacy is a luxury we can apparently no longer afford; everyone is a Baddie in Black (with a Beard!) and there's no real need to prove it either way; and El Presidente thinks he can just do what the fuck he likes, as long as he can make some tenuous link back to his phoney 'war on terror' to keep the fearful mass of sheep bleating along behind him.
We rarely agree, Corbin, but I did at least think that you thought this stuff through more than most. There's not that much evidence of you doing so here, though.

I am so glad some people are computer savvy so you could get this on here. It is super. Thanks for sharing. By the way, it is good they did not disclose the plot about the subway or they would have foiled that. They should be shut down for treasonous acts.
