nice piece of writing!
Also nice photos... Nothing makes a place feel like home more than bread baking. Blogit, bread baking, and backyards -- alliterative and evocative.

Mine are black raspberries...a minor difference between the two. I'll make you a deal. You pick, pack in dry ice and ship and I'll make the jam and send them back LOL! Geesh some people are really lazy!

Are those Blackberries?
I have a run of the thornless ones.....they get bigger that the largest grapes......I just give them away.......10+ gallons or so each season......now a days, people will ask...."Do we have to pick them?"
They expect me to pick the berries for them? It's not gonna happen....

Not a one Darkke
you can sniff away and never gain an ounce! Now for me if I watch my husband eat anything that is a sure fire way for me to gain weight!

How may pounds do you think a person could gain just sniffing the air? I can almost smell that bread from here (Washington state...)

Lovely pics and good to see ya doing your nesting thingy. That is comforting, and I have learned how to do some of that, especially the bread. I learned to make bread from my mum as a boy, and made it for my family as the kids were growing up. Now I make it for me just to have the scent of it in the house. Luv ya

Tomatoes are a main staple in our home. I usually can 50+ quarts every year. This year I am planning on trying my hand at some salsa as well. We go through a ton of it!

Warm homemade bread and jam sound sooooooooo yummy. I'm glad the jam turned out well. The veggies look good also and I'm sure you'll find something good to do with them.

Bel, the bread and jam sound delicious!
I haven't made home-made bread in years, although I have a cookbook for it. It's not my thing. Too impatient, I guess. Summer nesting sounds heavenly. MG is off today, so I'm hanging with him, playing Scrabble and cleaning the bathroom (ugh, dirty job, but somebody had to do it). It sounds like you're having a wonderful day.

Come on over we have plenty. Baked chicken, mashed potoatoes and gravy, greenbeans, warm bread, freshly made butter (not nearly as impressive as that sounds LOL) and lots of jam!
