I know I'd just cheat
but I think you have to tailor your eating plan to your own needs, so this obviously works for you. Go for it.

always better to lose slooooooow...
I agree with you! I lost 80lbs about 8 years ago. I followed the Weight Watchers program and got down to as low as 127lbs and a size 8! It took me over 2 years and I kept it off until last year when I gained a shocking 35 lbs!!! (due to stress and some medications I believe) I had been able to maintain my weight around 130-135lbs. until this year. I promote this "soup" diet because I've seen it work on many family members who lost 50-60lbs. and kept it off! There is a maintenance plan you switch to once you've been on it a few weeks that is much like Weight Watchers plan. The rapid weight loss in the beginning is to "kick-start" your loss and help you see results which in turn helps you stick to it. I lost 2.5 lbs. my first day! If you just do it for a week, likely anything you lose will quickly come back on.

Cindy7 I was always told that it was better to lose slowly

How does this affect your skin? Does the rapid weight loss cause recalistrant skin (skin that hangs)?

I'm also very wary of diets that don't affect a lifestyle change (can you really stay off al those foods for ever or will you put on weight again when you start eating them again?)

My friend went on a soup and shake diet that was formulated by doctors. She did lose weight quickly but found it difficult to stick to and put the weight back on quickly too. But I think they have their place (like quick weight loss for heart surgery, as a quick start or to get into a dress for an upcoming party).

Good luck on it though, if it works for you that is great. In the end it doesn't really matter how we lose it, just that it comes off and stays off. I wish you the best.

Being on the road for weeks would not be great for losing weight, never mind this diet! However, it CAN be done! Thanks for your comments on this diet. I began it today (AGAIN). This a.m. I weighed 168lbs. (more than I've been in years!) I know it works and it's quick and no hunger or cravings. The trick is to stay on it for at least 2 weeks and drastically change your food choices once off of it (lots of fresh veggies and fruits, low fat, lean meat, non-processed food, minimal sugar, etc) And, drink LOTS of water (also difficult to do when on the road!) Good luck to you and don't be discouraged. It can take years to lose weight the proper and healthy way.

It really works too...
I tried this one several years ago.  No weight loss the first week, but 15 lbs the second. (About 190-175 at the time).  The best part was it stayed off for quite a while.  Mainly, I think, because I developed a taste for fresh fruits and veggies.  It's very hard to follow when you live in a truck though.  I did it in the spring which was great for the fresh fruits and veggies (I was hauling produce at the time and so in areas where I could buy it fresh from the farm...) but when the weather got warm the soup would spoil after the second day or so.  (I was getting home once a week to cook then, now it's once every 4-6 weeks, and not my kitchen.)
