Don't know about dogs, but I like a glass of milk when my throat is sore...and a good night's sleep.

get him a pony to keep him company.........

sorry, couldn't resist.

from the book "what your dog is trying to tell you" by john m. simon, d.v.m. - has your dog been barking for an extended period of time?  it's possible that his larynx is inflamed.  known as laryngitis, the condition is rarely anything to worry about.  keep your dog rested and away from all stimuli.  increase the humidity in your house.  giving your dog licorice root, a natural cortisone that helps reduce swelling, may help. (available at most local health food stores.)

WOW
Nice account of the fireworks display. We were camping on Lake Superior and it was too stormy to have our show.  I enjoyed reading of yours.

You get a quiet Bo for a couple of days or else you can take her to the vet for the remedy.

A dog who thinks he's a horse...has he been pulling any plows????

Your description of the 4th celebration was vivid.
