SANNHET & AVANT-GARDE

It is not my intention to stir up any contention at all, and I will never argue religion.  I will simply state my opinions and let those who read believe what they want.  I have a number of very good friends who are Atheists, and believe me we have had many interesting discussions, and are still friends!  It takes two to argue, and I will not be one of them!  However, I will not constantly take the heat from others without a little fireworks myself.  As my very wise Christian grandmother often said, "if you can't take the heat, stay out of my kitchen!" My sincere desire is to be friends with everyone, but if necessary, I can be a formidable enemy as well!  At any rate, again quoting my grandmother, "what's good enough for the goose is just as good for the gander!"

You're liable to stir up some folks for sure doing this.

XENO-X AND ARIEL70

Thank you both for your most recent comments!  Are we not, each of us, struggling in this life to understand those things around us and most particularly our own selves?  How better to do that than to combine all our individual efforts into one concerted effort, each one of us realizing the value of  the other's input?  There is much  wisdom, I think, in the old adage that says "United, we stand; divided, we fall!"  I am reading and learning from your writings as well!  Thanks again for valued comments!  Have a really good day!

THank you for your courteous comment. You can be assured that I shall never, ever put words into your mouth, or thoughts into your head that weren't there in the first place.

And yes, I shall stick with you, for only by reasoned and ratioanal debate among equals can we progress socially and spiritually.

I, in no way, consider your coments to be any example of Bible Bashing at all.  I only fear that you might have mis-judged me.  I do appreciate your comments very much.  Just stay with me, and I hope to prove you wrong.  You might find me more reasonable than expected.  I just don't want some one to "put their words in my mouth" and argue as if I had actually said them.  Just be fair, and do not misquote me.  O.K.?

It has been my experience in a long life that atheists generally make little or no attempt to " market " their non-belief ; indeed the subject rarely arises among atheists unless introduced by believers.

I must say that I find you pre-emptive dismissal of those whom you know will disagree with you highly patronising, and insulting. I publish my views and take any flak that they evoke in others with good grace.

But then, despite your avowed intentions, it is clear, to this reader at least, that you will only preach to the converted ; and no doubt will brand these comments as yet another example of " Bible bashing "
