That I can understand! Certain writers here make me want to write better and make me work harder to do so simply by sharing their talent with the rest of us.
I doubt I will ever really get into watching Tennis but at least now I understand the thrill of this particular event.

The thing about Wimbledon (correct spelling) is that
it's the tournament that players most want to win. There are other grand slams but this is the one they want.
I like to watch, have even been there myself, but have not followed closely this year. Tennis is a battle of wills and strategies and that's why it appeals. A lot of people like it who have never picked up a racket. I always play better tennis after watching Wimbledon

Shhhhhhhh Pat
You are giving away my secret indulgence here! I became accustomed to the TV in the background last year because the house was too quiet and now I am sort of addicted to that show. Passions I watch for a giggle from time to time but I love "Days"
Don't you think it's about time they just leave Sammy alone? She really isn't a bad person, she just needs love! Of course she really should be with Lucas and who the hell decided to bring Carrie back? UGH! I never liked her!

And worse than that --
they pre-empted Days of Our Lives, which is my can't miss soap opera. It's the Jerry Springer Show of soap operas, so bad it's great campy fun. It's like a parody of soap opera: short hacked up scenes, story lines that play over and over, dead characters who come back to life, some of 'em several times. Miracles and wonders, fantasy islands, and not a straight-up, shake-your-hand-and-look-you-in-the-eye character in the whole cast. Except perhaps Mrs. H. , the only original cast member still alive after 40 years. Sits, mostly.
They've brought back an old ploy this week - the mysterious character in black, wearing black rubber gloves, switching medical specimens, hiding and listening. The same gag they pulled a couple years ago, or was that last summer: when half the folks in Salem were "killed" and spirited off to a secret island and tortured with closed circuit video of what their folks were doing now that they were "dead." Wimbledon, indeed!

My husband doesn't watch tennis
He watches the little skirts they wear.
If I put on a little skirt, he's ready to throw a fit, lol!

bel...
It must be one of those sports that one finds interesting if one plays, and follows the players. The things that drive me nuts are the professional sports drafts being treated like such a big deal. Really, who cares?
