no cause for embarrasment LLM
I'm bumping around possibilities in my head based on a four week timeframe (with a possible stop over in San Francisco)... want to spend enough time in the Big Apple to get some feeling for the place and a quick trip to see Niagra Falls (which I think can be reached by train??)... where is Maine relative to New York City?

RobDon,

Yes, New York is most definitely cold in November.  My youngest sister lives just outside Albany, and she says the late Fall and Winter can be brutal.

My mum and family are planning to spend Thanksgiving Day with her this year, but I don't know if they'll go to the parade.

Forgive me if this seems sudden...I can't travel to New York, but I'd like very much to meet up with you, as I've not yet met any of my fellow bloggers/friends...If you can make a short trip to Maine, let me know.

Sorry...Hope I didn't embarrass you....

Thanksgiving day is Thursday, November 23 this year, Robdone. Here's hoping you can get time-off to be there for Macy's parade. New York weather that time of year can be very cold, windy and snowy or just cool and snow-free.
