Oh, I agree 100%.. that I do not consider being "anal" anyway....that is
the right approach and response. I get called anal and bitchy all the time, but only by those who had certain things pointed out to them they didn't want to hear. I meant anal (in a joking way anyways) in the "take a joke" way.... lol. Your not anal, just right...

Kiddo75 - but I am the anal type - and proud of it
Being anal can be the appropriate response on a few choice occasions. When one knows they are right on a point and others around are insistent that other allegiances are more important than doing right. Being anal is the proper response. How else do you treat plagiarizers in a writing community? You certainly don't defend them. I let my disdain for this practice be known.

gomedome....you have earned a special place in Heaven...
hehe... people really do get a little too serious sometimes and the ability to be humble and admit being wrong seems to fly right out the little window in their noggin.... you just keep trying, I'm a Christian and only think you are 95% wrong....so see! You ARE changing the world! lol...... (JK, btw...in case you didn't know. I don't see you as being the anal type, but I take no chances anymore! lol_

blackcat30 - I even allowed for the natural penchant that people have to
side with those of like mind.
But it was the personal remarks that got to me. It really reminded me of recess in the schoolyard. I cannot remember being more unimpressed as I was with the maturity level of this pair of clowns.

gome... I hear what you're saying. I wouldn't defend someone simply
because we were on the same "side"... but then again, I see shades of grey almost everywhere I go.

blackcat30 - you are speaking of loyalty based on a confidence in your
friends.
That's a little bit different than this issue but not entirely. In the case of the people that I am speaking of, they acted as if they were obligated somehow to demonstrate some form of loyalty simply because they shared the same beliefs as my adversary. The confidence part was missing entirely, but they acted as if it existed.

I missed the event, but agree with the premise.
I defend my friends because I believe in them as people, not because we share beliefs.

loserdom yes
AKA the Democratic party. Oops.
I see your point. There is a difference in true "loserdom" and just immaturity. I am not entirely sure of the identity of your antagonists actually. I was referancing some of my own experiences.

cantey_1975 - "loserdom?" - what a great term
It implies that there are some folks that are accomplished losers and have established their own loser dominion. In the cases I am speaking of however, I would not call these persons losers, they did not give me that impression. Instead there is a definite element of childlike reasoning, a shallowness of perspective that does not seem able to make determinations of right and wrong outside of two distinct classifications; Those with Jesus are right, those without Jesus are wrong.

It definantly is a sure sign of immaturity
some people find religion as a result of their loserdom. It is sad because now they have something that literally provides them with an excuse to not face their personality issues, and instead project their issues onto " non believers".
