EVERYONE BUT ONE

Thank you for your very balanced comments!

All but one of you convince me that there is still hope for Christianity!  That one, I think, believes that the rest of us should just shut up and let him do all the talking, when he, in fact, he is a part of the problem and has not the vagueist idea of  its solution!  I'll simply leave it to you to decide which one of us I am talking about!

I have mentioned how that transformation occurs in my blogs.
and it is pretty all-encompassing.
Paul preached tolerance, in Romans 14 to the varoius and varied forms of worship.
We also should.

GE -
When Ego rules, being right is more important than being happy. Unfortunately, many people are ruled by Ego. Good post!

No, actually it's all about thinking

Roamans 12:2 says that we are not to be "conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

The thing that you either don't know or have forgotten is that the truth is not reative as many would suggest. The turth is reality regardless of what you or I choose to believe. So, you and I can either align ourselves with the truth or we can embrace what is false and face the consequences respectively. The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness." Romans 1:18

Do you think you can continue to suppress the truth and face no consequence? What you speak, you speak, you speak in ignorance of God and His ways, but yours I fear is a willful ignorance. Jesus did not come to bring peace, but a sword. "What fellowship does light have with darkness"? I will pray that you will learn the fear of the Lord and stop spreading such nonsense...

AVANT

Yes, you are correct!  For these people, if you remove all reasons for contention, they will still argue with your motivation for doing so!  In other words, "if they can not find something BAD to say,  then that is Your fault!!"

I am convinced that to some people, being right is more important than being happy. And, they are not satisfied unless there is contention.

ROCKY

Thanks again, sir, for your comments.  Wouldn't it truely be great to have a new religious awakening  in our Christian community!  We already have the "heart."  If we could now add the "smart" we would have the unbeatable combination!  I think we often overlook the real impact of what Jesus actually did.  He CHANGED an ENTIRE RELIGION almost single-handedly.  He is responsible for the "heart" in our dealings with each oher.  He is the one who is responsible for no more animal sacrificing, woman stonings or "eye for eye, tooth for tooth" coldness.  He put the love and compassion in our  religion!  For this his own people killed him!?  He changed it once.  It needs a final adjustment.  I can only hope that we are ready to do it again!

Here...Here......(stand up & take a bow)

This was so well said and so true...if only those christians would be able to see this! I am getting a bit tired of all the preaching and fighting in our community.  Somehow though, I don't think it will change! Great post!

Thanks for the substanive reply! You always go straight to the point, and I appreciate that.  I have always been a little partial to the wine bit, too.  In fact, the more, the merrier!

I also liked your comparison to "accensuate the ... " That was timely and approprate!  You have a great day, sir!

i always liked the wine bit
my stomach likes it too.

yes we should be focusing on these positive things

there's the song --

"eliminate the negative, accentuate the positive, latch on to the affirmative -- don't mess with Mr. in -between"

there's a huge universe ahead of us.

we can't let the burdens of the past hold us back.
