I think the better way was to ask him what this other relationship was all
about and take it from there depending on how comfortable u were with this other friendship or whatever it was?

Some times when we are confused we take wrong decisions in or life.
May be your boy friend will repent one day and feel that he has made a wrong choice but it might be too late . What do you think?
