Hmmmmm
I am thinking it might be your dog that moved it there?

Sounds to me like you were "out of line" by tidying up that patch of grass,
so the spring, in springing, took care of matters for you.
(Sorry so corny, it's the best I could do this early in the morning.)

A Whacky story -- Reminds me of when I lost a $200.00 check
Searched for it for days, even went through the garbage. After about a week, I was sitting, and asking God for help to find that check. He told me to go upstairs, and look in a corner on the floor -- I did and there was the check. It had by lying there for more than a week just waiting for someone to pick it up!

That happens to me a lot! You're looking for something, you don't find it. When you don't need it anymore, it just pops up. Weird, eh?

The Big Red Spring Fairy may have moved it, Whacky. I had the same problem last week, but I had to buy a new mechanism.

Maybe the spring just jumped over there by itself.

I really don't have a clue on how to solve your mystery.

It flew up and stuck in your hair,
and fell out when you bent over to pick up the hand trimmer. Wild guess.

Maybe it was Mademoiselle's ghost
dropped by for a visit.
