Cringe, yes it's true how bad stuff spreads faster
I don't know why it is but I changed in the past few years and just smile at stuff that makes others apoplectic.

My son has been hard work, probably always will be, but he's pulling through OK. He has a way of charming people and making them laugh. Everyone tells me that he's great and that they love his humor.  We just have to make sure that at the end of school he gets marks for the work as well as charm

Well it's like we were taught in soft skills in call centres, you have a
bad experience you tell 10 people, a good experience anywhere between 3 and 5.

Alot of the time I can be guilty of it, but sometimes it's just necessary to feel like expounding it to feel like you're surviving it and getting past it. It's always humbling to have it put in perspective in comparison to other people's circumstances.

As my Dad has said on numerous occasions 'children keep you young', and I believe it's true. They extend your happiness, and your will to keep going.

Your children are great, you are blessed because of them, and because of your great attitude.

Good luck with the classes, wish I had your fortitude.

Azur
Congratulation, Azur.  You deserve it.  I love the small mercies; like having a hummingbird whirr around me as it tries to work out if I'm tame and harmless.

Azur
This is wonderful news.  If I may ask; what is it that you teach?

I hope the course comes into fruition, Azur, it sounds right up your alley
Pessimism is a choice, I agree. I can look at the glass half full or half empty, I can look at the risks and be dissuaded or believe in the possibilities.  Somehow, lately, the possibilities seem more possible. It does help to have a supportive partner.

You're a natural born Teacher
I've felt that way about you since I first started out here, and haven't changed my mind.  And it's natural that you would raise kind children who can make bad wine good and go out of their way to help someone in need.  You've set a great example.  Congratulations.

It is good to be grateful for small mercies.

The children are most definitely the future
I see this every day in my own teaching, bright hopes for a better world. Maybe, just maybe...

My strength was returning Pat_B but now I'm so busy
so maybe the negative vibes pre-occupy me too much. I should leave them to their own devices and save the energy for me and the children. They deserve that.

It's not always the thought that counts...

but in this case, where the people who love you want to give you "the best ever" the thought and intention are everything. What great kids!!!

From things you say - and leave unsaid - about work and teaching, I would sign up for your class and feel the tuition was a good investment.  I like the way you think!  If you're feeling a bit down, a bit sensitive to negative vibes, it's probably hormonal -- the body's recovery systems at work, the swing of the pendulum as strength returns.

Hi
I agree that people tend to be too negative. I found myself falling into that trap as well because my boss's negativity was rubbing off on me. Fortunately, I realised what was happening and pulled myself towards myself. Life has been a lot easier since. What your son did was gorgeous - it's wonderful to have such a thoughtful child.

Exactly so Majroj
If we are not careful our world will be perfectly dull

This may sound hypocritical on multiple levels, but...amen

Flap like crazy and don't look down (The LooneyTunes© rule of life). If we were all rational / all the time no one would get onto the freeway, walk alone in the woods, or fly in an airplane. Venice Italy and New Orleans USA would not exist, L.A. and San Francisco California would be torn down.
