In the end, after all is said and done, after laws have been put into place
in the name of another child horribly taken away from this world by the hands of a monster....nothing will take away the fact that there is probably one right around the corner from you watching and waiting.  This isn't known, because up until the time they act - they are well hid or we are just that unaware.  I found out I have 3 of them in my neighborhood, and that is just because they were convicted.  Best thing is, to hang on to your child with iron hands and watch them with an eagles stare.  Because if they set their eyes on a certain "target"...Jessica Lunsford.  That case still makes me so heart sick.  Good post, sad, but necessary.

It might mean people have to be careful no matter where they stay.

Speaking as a mother, this is one of the most firghtening issues we, as parents and as members of society, need to confront.

Symphony

I won't mention the content of your post, for it is too appalling and harrowing, and my views on the subject are pretty well known by now, I guess. I've just posted two pieces about it, with more to follow.

This is a highly fraught, and highly emotional issue, and as far as I can see Megan's Law has been of very limited use. One suspects that Sarah's Law will have the identical effects ; or lack of them.

The issue of vigilantism is highly relevant, and I guess you've heard about the crowd that attacked a paediatrician in ( I think, Cardiff ) mistaking him for paedophile. Lynch law is not likely to help in this, is it?

I've written this many times in here ; we should stop referring to these creatures as paedophiles, which means lovers of children. They are child sexual predators, and that's how we should refer to them.

Thank you for your post.

I remember hearing about Sarah's case.  There is no justice in the sexual assult and murder of children.  This post made me cry...For myself and for all the innocent children who cannot speak out for themselves.
