Believe it or not, I think everything you said in your last comment to me is the exact truth! In fact, I reached the same conclusion myself, over 35 years ago! I know personally what it takes to go against the grain of those who believe the unbelievable. It takes real guts and courage, and I admire you for doing this. I intended no disrepect at all to you. On the contrary, I simply wanted to encourage you to go forward from there, and don't get stuck in that rut! In the end, we can not blame our own beliefs on the false concepts of others or the contradictory teachings of their so-called "Holy" books. Your mind is totally free, and you should feel absolutely certain that your own honest findings will be honored by anyone who really counts, even God Himself. There is plenty of evidence all around us, if our minds are free to examine it, to reach our own conclusions. In fact, no one, including God Himself, could expect any more! "Doubting" is a GOOD thing; it has brought you far. Continue it; be fair and honest with yourself, and you will may eventually find the True God!
Respectfully,
Gerald

This is what I have figured from studying the Bible.
The problem is that for the most part the Bible just does not make sense. You can find passages that back up the idea of it being next to impossible to get into Heaven ( Such as if you die without having asked for forgiveness or that God would know if you truly believed in him or not) and you can find some that seem to suggest otherwise.
it is all part of the Bible being a great contradiction of ideas, and far from being perfect.

good job son
check outr the whole concept of heaven
then check out all the biblical references
what will you find?
not much
it's like Hell -- people have ocncoted an entire world out of a few verses that really don't say anything about heaven at all.
all this detracts us from living in the here and now.
if anyone wants to base their entire life on an imagined futore -- i say go ahead -- i hate to have you at the end somewhere feel that all you r imaginings were in vain -- but that's your choice.

kooka_lives - this post cracked me up
I wonder how many of those who spew this stuff have really given it any thought? We've seen people here on Blogit that insist that only a select few are going through the pearly gates, some such as our favourite pastor insisting that her own parents were going to hell because they were not born again. We also see most depictions of heaven and hell (humorous ones aside) that blur the lines between the soul and the corporeal body, speaking as if the body will be in heaven. The entire idea doesn't make much sense as it has been traditionally depicted.

AND SUNNYBEACH7!
What a naive concept of the nature of God! I suggest to you that it is much believable that God will be YOUR servant than you His! Ever thought that the whole Universe will then be His GIFT to you and all He will expect from you is that you will help Him to preserve it? That the last thing He would want would be a crowd of brown-nosers following Him around? And Hell? What's THAT? Non Existence? Probably. Don't listen to others. Find Him yourself!

If Heaven is as you have pictured it, then I don't blame you for not wanting to go there! Neither would I! However, if you would spend more time determining for yourself, rather than listening to others' false concepts about such things, what God must be like, I think you might very well reconsider! I think your chances are essentially the same as everyone else's ( about 99%) for going to Heaven! Your beliefs are certainly not going to keep you out!

That's good Kooka,
However, you forgot to include the most blessed part about getting to heaven....
You get to be God's servant....forever and ever!
