A bloggers convention almost sounds like a contradiction in terms, what is a blogger without a computer? Anyway, all things considered, it still sounds like you had a great time (and love that dress!).

Hi, Nanaroo,

I'm glad you went to the convention and at least got to experience something like that. I can understand how you might not have felt connected. I've come a long way in my shyness, but I'm still a great doofus, and very awkward. Like fourcats and blackcat, I think it would be cool for us to have a Blogit bloggers' convention. It would be nice to put faces with words. Just wishful thinking. When would we even have time to fit it into our real lives??? Thanks, and welcome back. :)

A blogger's convention... how about that?

Nannaroo ... I'm back. How's Fallbrook? Carlsbad's the same. I haven't sold my house. My book is out and I'm selling like mad.

I know how you feel about being shy. I've gone to writer's conventions at considerable expense and, while others are cornering editors and agents, I stand around and watch. I just have a terrible time trying to pitch my writing. Finally, last January, I memorized a spiel and went around regurgitating it on anyone who would stand still for 3 minutes. At least I got some action.

first of all, love that outfit! (although i'd not wear it if that was real

fur). secondly, blackcat30 is right, it would be different if you were with us. that said, i'm wondering if it's a libra thing.

i can speak to a room of thousands if i'm on stage with a mic and they're all in their seats but put me in that room of thousands and make me have to mingle/speak one-on-one and i'm looking for the exit sign. i don't do off-the-cuff small talk well at all. when my neighbor and i go on walks with our dogs to the park next door, he's constantly chatting with folks while i'm off romping with the dogs, having footraces and such. my friend knows everybody by name, what they do for a living, etc., i know none of that and i've lived in this neighborhood for three years now.

Hi Nan.......

They did a study years ago and they asked a group of people what their greatest fear was........# 2 was death....#1 was public speaking. So I used to joke that the person giving the eulogy at a funeral would rather be in the coffin intead of up on stage. LOL In my career I had to always "be on" or as I call it "smoozing" with business associates. It's draining and now I prefer to be as low key as possible. Kind of like doing things behind the scene instead of front and center. So I can understand how you feel but sometimes we have to do just what you did today! BTW, booo. LA traffic!
