We are so busy being politically correct and making excuses for abusers in this country it's sickening. I understand wanting to keep a family unit together but when that family is life threatening to that child, the parents rights be damned!

Bel, if only the social agencies in charge of child welfare had half your
common sense. First thing, get the kid out of an abusive home. Period. I knew a man, a fomer customer of mine, who was a CPS worker, who said that so many of his cases involved stepfathers abusing or beating their stepchildren that he thought there might be something evolutionary or genetic about it, like male lions who take over a pride who kill off the previous lion's offspring to establish dominance and his own genes. It's so sad.

Sunny
It wouldn't surprise me. Often the victims are so traumatized that they are not exactly the best witnesses. Add to that many are very young and it's even harder to prosecute.

I don't know how true this is,
but I was told one of our local police departments "dropped" a lot of their child molestation cases, because there were so many.

I like your suggestions...they're very basic things that should already
Be in place. We should already be doing this stuff. I wish we could think of a way to help change things.
