You make very good points! It will not rub and people need to self assess and be realistic about their skills. Thanks for comments!

Luck or inspiration?
I wonder if it's luck they are looking for or inspiration? I know I never felt REALLY inspired by the subject I got a degree in. I was good at it, but bored in the related job.
I think the main problem is the person is looking for you (or others) to back up the inspiration, approve of it, before they take action. Action is they key to turning dreams into reality...not an old degree, or new training.

I have a friend who is big time into network marketing and keeps telling me how rich I can be. Well, when they get rich, then maybe they can convince me LOL!

good post with a lot of truth!
in the 1970's while working as a movie extra I was in some of the early films of both Tommy Lee Jones and James Woods, I had closeups right next to them in some scenes... they went on to fame and fortune... I had less patience and chose to go to work in a factory... We are the sum total of our choices, whether we accept that or not... either they see that or they don't... life goes on, and for the most part, life could care less... You have 60-80 years if you're lucky.. what do you choose to do with it?
