Carl does not hunt for sport. If the meat would go to waste he will not hunt it. He was born and raised in a place that hunting was survival. You didn't hunt, you went hungry. Now that he is an adult and has a job that feeds his family, he still prefers venison over anything. He will still only take what will be eaten. I know this is a touchy subject for some...it was for me as well when I met him. The truth is, I eat beef, so I can't really criticize.
As for condesending. We tend to amuse one another on a regular basis. I am so a city girl who somehow ended up in the country but I still tend to be just a bit dopey on certain subjects. It is never done to be nasty and believe me he WILL get his!

My boyfriend tends to be rather condescending towards me ...
whenever we discuss sports, the lone topic he can legitimately claim a knowledge advantage in.
I could never date a hunter, however.
