Pearl1,

It is off to a hot start; that's for sure. I am familiar somewhat with the Kentucky - Texas Western story. Of course, Hossiers is one of the all-time favorites of the the little guy coming out on top.

I have not been writing or reading on this site as I should. I have been devoting more and more time to my other types of writing. I will have two magazine articles this coming month in one publication. So I have to do what is best for my future. I have been taking time to write in my politics blog here, but that is not what I really want to do. Thanks for the read and comment.

Hi, sarooster,

Hope your summer's off to a grand start.  :)  By the way, I just saw the DVD Glory Road last night, with the Kentucky vs. Texas Western NCAA final in 1966 (I think).  Pat Riley was featured.  Until recently, I only knew of Pat Riley as the coach of the Lakers, back in the Magic days.  Apparently, he was a pretty good ball player.

The movie was okay, but no sports classic in my opinion, like Hoosiers or Remember the Titans.  My favorite part was when the guy's mom came to the school and sat behind him in the classroom.  Too funny.  That was almost worth the rental by itself.
