..yes, they are psychic vampires, in my opinion... they most often aren't
consciously aware of their effect on people.. but they want/need your energy.. and they get to you ..one way or another so that you will release the energy thru anger, which is their pyschic food/addiction... they love to make others and themselves as miserable as possible... There have been some books on the subject.... Google for..Psychic Vampires... interesting reading...

I believe there are people who perceive others are not happy even when they persist they are; in fact some believe it less then. Maybe they don't know what to talk about with you as small talk. Sometimes when a person has just received a new degree particularily a high one, as yours is, those around you come into a new adjustment period. You have been exhalted in their eyes and they find it difficult without telling you 'hey you know what i heard are you interested?' Don't know but some of your friends may not be trying to run your life as much as find their own place with you in it. Just a thought.

I only know about 3 dozen or so people like that in my life
They have all the answers to someone else's life, but not a clue as to their own.

If you are happy with your life
Then it is not for anyone else to even attempt to give you advice as to how you should live. My mother in law kept trying to find jobs for me when I became a stay at home mom. This was a decision made by both my husband and myself. She made the mistake of telling my husband that I needed to contribute to the household as well. My husband gave her more than his .02 on the subject!
