Yes, I do believe similarly. We make a heaven or hell for ourselves with our inner world.

But, you know it now. And, that is all that is important.

Yes. Freedom from reaction is true freedom.

I've heard we create what we think about, so dwelling on what we DON'T want brings more of it into our lives.  Focus on what we do want makes for a better life.

Life for me is a journey of learning to surrender.
I wish I had known this earlier.

Avant-Garde,
As always, I come back to your post to contemplate the puzzle a little further.  The great mystery of why things are the way they are never ceases to amaze me, but deep in the mystery, like the center of the rose as always, is freedom from reaction.  Thanks for reminding me of that.

I see what you mean by that, and it is interesting. Thanks.

Surrender is indeed the key - in surrender, the ego is sacrificed. Samhain_Moon

Me, too. I have always had issues with self-acceptance.

Avant-Garde,
Acceptance and surrender to the world as it is, does bring freedom.  Everything does not have to make sense, I just have to trust that it is how it is supposed to be.  Now if I can accept myself, then maybe I'll get somewhere.  Good post, as always, Avant-Garde

I love the message in this line in particular
Surrender how it is made real by your striving, and it no longer has a reason to exist
