Azur, I Agree
People like this are selfish and self centered. I do not ask question when I know the answer and will ask questions with people like this in an attempt to change the focus or help them see their behavior. Unfortunately, many cannot see beyond self and use aggressive behavior for attention and control to help their self esteem.

I break off the communication. I do not like to deal with people who drain me emotionally. I will do what I can to help, yet when I find it is fruitless, I do what is best for both of us,
get and stay away as far as I can!!

Taps, I Have and it is Amazing How People Have a Fantasy View of Self
Often they get upset when told they are different. I find myself in this type situation more often than I like, yet will tell the truth whether they like it or not.

Sophistie,
There's such a huge difference between communication for insight, to arrive at an understanding, to sort out thoughts, share ideas, etc. and one with an agenda. to belittle or to control. Many are expert at games of manipulation. What do you do when you recognize this type? Break off communication or attempt to continue a fruitless and draining exchange?

Sophistie
You are observant I think. When greeted by that kind of approach I get the impression that the person is much more concerned about themselves than what they are talking about. In other words it doesn't much matter what they are saying so long as everyone is listening. It is difficult to understand this kind of attitude for people who value true thought and interaction. I don't see a point in asking a question if you don't want to hear any answers

Sophistie, definitely aware of persons who are like this. It is so exasperating. Did you ever have anyone go so far as to insist, "This is the way you should perceive me...." and then describe the way they see themselves which is so far from what you see you have to laugh?
