The ones that get me are the men who have sex change operations. Yeah, they can change the parts but they still have broad shoulders, big hands etc. Even with the changed parts, they still resemble a man but how unhappy they must be to rip their bodies apart. Oh well. ...people want to look good and live forever.

Symphony,
I thought about it for several years, (reduction, not enlargement), just for comfort's sake. Now,though, I don't know that I would even if I had the money. It does seem a waste. I can undertand someone who feels really awkward wanting to get surgery to feel "normal", like a nose job. I think it's a matter of degree.
Anything to do with a tv show, though, to me, just screams "I need attention so desperately I will do anything to get it" sooo. .maybe it's not just the surgery, but how much surgery, and the fact that they choose to be on television about it. If I were going to have surgery, I'd want it very private.
Also, I would like to get laser surgery to imporve my vision, so I could see better.

I do think that it is important to take care of our physical condition and to make ourselves beautiful, but we must also think about being well in spirit and mind...both things are complementary...

I believe this is such a personal issue I could not say what I think anyone else should do, me I don't think I would do any of it now. I don't know by the time I am 95 I might just want a lift of everything I have left. Have a fun week-end.

It's such a waste...
My Mom wants to get her eyes done... 15 grand! I can think of many more things I would do with 15 grand... like go around the world for a few months..... my eyes would get so much more out if it.

Don't want to go under the knife unless I HAVE to!
Have you seen Joan Rivers or Kenny Rogers? Don't look a bit like themselves or anyone from this planet!

I'll only have surgery to keep me well
but no more.
I can understand people who have surgery to correct something that is blighting their life and drawing unpleasant atttention.

I used to think liposuction might be an easy way
to get rid of some hip and belly flab. Then I watched the surgery on TV. Ewww! Exercise now doesn't seem so bad. As for breast implants, fogedaboudit. Not to mention that it would take my life savings... Not worth it. :)

Refurbish from the inside. Plastics leak after some years.

I'm with you, Symphony...
If a person wants to feel better about themselves, they first need to figure out what their intial issue is and then deal with it from the inside out instead of the other way round.
I agree with you also in that in some cases plastic surgery may make a person feel better about their outward physical appearance, such is in the case of drastic weight loss, accident or burn injuries...But for the most part, I think this type of surgery is becoming more and more of an obsession with people...Most of the time, it just ends up causing more health problems than what it's worth.
God gave us the bodies He chose for a reason...It's so sad to me that more people can't be happy with that gift...

Perfection
is not something that I find appealing. I prefer people who are imperfect just like me!
