It's so easy to respond in kind.  It doesn't matter if I'm smiling back at someone, or getting drawn into an argument.  It just seems natural to mirror their behavior.  So if I can be consious of that, and decide to give what I want to recieve, rather than give what I get...then I think the world can become a better place.  The alternative is that we just get drawn into more violent behavior that feeds on itself.

Thank you all so much for your comments.  It is wonderful to know that so many people share my opinion.

RAME, I guess people like to hurt because they have been hurt.  It is like a chain reaction.  What we have known, we become and pass on.

And God says it so clearly.."My sheep hear My voice..I know them..they...
know me."..so much better to run to Him than to a slaughter.....

RAME
The world is a diseased place, and in dire need of help. It's obvious we can't help ourselves.

"God is our refuge, a present help in time of trouble"
I might have paraphrased a bit, but you get my drift.  Good post!

If for just one day the chronic 'sheep/followers' thought for themselves, the result would immediately be noticeable!!
