Writer earnings
The "rate of payment" as you call it varies for each and every reader. That's why we can't give you a general "rate".
Your writer payment per page -- if you are a Blogit Basic monthly subscriber and, say, read 100 pages per month -- will be 50% of your Basic monthly subscription ($12.95) divided by 100 so writers. That comes to $6.975 divided by 100 so writers will earn $0.06975 for each "page" you read.
If you read only one page the next month...in that case your writer payment will be the full $6.975 to the one writer you read. And so on.
Thank you.

Hi, I've been active here since 2003. Others have been here longer.
Imagine your Blogit bill is a big chunk of cheese. Your choice of cheese.
OK. Blogit whacks off a standard sized hunk each month for their share.
The remaining chunk then starts getting sliced up by your reading habits. If you read one blogger (as many times as you want, it only awards one "click" or "hit" per reader per day), period, she gets the whole chunk. If you read a hundred bloggers over the month, each gets one percent. Thin pizza indeed.
As for making money, your optimum audience would be a lot of people who don't read others. There is no way to predict who much money you will make each month, but unless you work your keister off, have talent, and will use sex and sensationalism (WITH SOME NOTABLE EXCEPTIONS) you will not make much money. A few blogs with very specialized readerships have made a lot of money.
It's a specialized little cove in the blogging universe where you can make some connections, toss out your viewpoints or angst or written work, and the money asppect tends to propel a little healthy turnover. People looking to make money or get free collective writing feedback per se generally don't stay long.

Earnings
The amount earned by a writer from each reader who reads a page of their writing depends on how many total pages that reader reads each month. Please note that each page is defined as a different URL; that is, each time the web address in your browser's address field changes as you are reading various blogs.
As we explain on the Blogit Help page on this topic:
"Half of your Blogit Basic payment is divided between the writers you actually read...
Payment Distribution
Every month, Blogit keeps track of the number of times you read each writer. At the end of the month, Blogit divides your writer payment between all of the writers, based on how often you read each one.
As a simple example, say you only read Jack during the month. At the end of the month, Blogit will send your entire writer payment to Jack.
Let's say you now start reading Jill half of the time, while still reading Jack the rest of the time. In that case, Blogit will send half your writer payment to Jill and the other half to Jack...
Notes
- Every page read is counted, so if you click on a blog and read five pages of that blog, that is counted as five pages read.
- Comment pages are not counted.
Thank you.
