You are forgiven, Damon!
Misunderstanding what was being declared "accomplished" is a common mistake. No need to mope, good reader, so long as you apply yourself to correcting that error.

Is FW even following the course?

I thought s/he had a better grasp of what;s going on than this comment indicates:

If we are indeed fighting a "movement," then why are we pursuing a "military" option.[sic]

And why in Iraq?

If we are fighting a "movement," then how do you define, much less achieve, victory?

I'm not going to waste time rehasing four years of history to answer the first two questions. The third, however, was answered by the President when all this started. He was plain that there will be no clear moment of victory such as an armistice signing. Rather, victory comes when terrorism is abolished.

Forgive Me...
...but didn't Bush do the Mission Accomplished thing on the deck of that aircraft carrier about three years ago?

How many times can America say Mission Accomplished before people start to suspect that each declaration is, in fact, pure bullshit?

Just curious...

Stay the course.

Writer, Crimebuster Murtha! What a fruitcake! You know it is a good thing

OBL's been hidin'.  Otherwise the libs would have had this idealogical war over and we'd be attacked again and again!

Zarqawi's Death
While the killing of Zarqawi is without doubt a milestone in the war in Iraq, it would be very premature to assume the the mission is accomplished.

Writer,
I completely agree. Those who claim that Zarqawi's 'termination' signals 'victory' in Iraq fall into two categories: political opportunists like Kerry and Murtha, and the naive. Of course, those in the first category mean to make use of those in the second.
