I find I can always write, but the quality varies of course.
You are right, you push through, write anyway, come what may, there is always another day, to revise what you just wrote. I admire your persistence, if you have great ideas already, then you are halfway, nothing will happen until it is all down on paper. (It is easier to encourage others than do it yourself...).

Trusting the writer..

I completely understand where your coming from and glad there are others who go through the same thing.  But I've learned to (or should I say I'm learning to) just trust the writer in me.  It may not feel good when your writing but I figure you have it or you don't.  It's scary to think that way sometimes with all the competition out there but you just have to believe in your writing and that you have the gift to do this thing.  Paul Haggis ( The Director and Writer of the movie "Crash") said something to that kind of stuck with me.  He said; "You just have to write through it".  He's right!! Bravo for pushing through!!

Cheers,

Mario D.

I'm glad you don't have
writers block anymore.  I haven't worked on my novel since March of 2005.  That's longggggg writer's block.  Take care

I also agree with u and PatB about not getting stuck
and yet I understand how it feels to move on if the writing doesn't seem perfect

You have such good ideas
about how to waken your muse...  My old journalism teacher used to say if you can't write on deadline, you can't write. Of course with him, there were assignments, specific events to report. It's different when you're laying out a story line, making sure what you write is true to the character you have in mind. I agree with you that sometimes we just have to be stubborn.

You seem to have found an ideal system, tigerprincess - simply get the words on the screen.

Yes it is better to write something, anything
I don't believe in writers' block. The only time I can't write is when I am too tired or too busy or too unwell. Then it is best not to write
