Hi, Symphony,
I don't have any one motto that I can think of, but I'm sure I live by some philosophy... Hmmm. Maybe it will come to me later. :) Thanks.

I am not sure we do know when we are going wrong. I have various mottos but am too tired to think of one now. I do write a self help blog occasionally which is about my strategies in life

Perhaps surprisingly for an atheist, my guiding principal in life is " Love thy neighbour as thyself"
If we all, believers and non-bleievers alike, made this our guiding principal, the world would be fit for humans to live in

One saying which my own mother has passed on to me is: "A wise man changes his mind...a fool never." Like you, I didn't fully understand it till I grew up and watched people continuing to make the same mistakes in life, or refusing to admit mistakes because of personal pride. Young people, I think, often scorn their parents' ways because young people haven't lived long enough to see life beyond their own lack of experience. It's amazing what a difference a few years can make, eh?

What a wonderful post! I go through a lot of ridicule because I am a believer. This is my motto about my faith.
"You can't know if I am wrong until you understand my words from my perspective." Justi
