Hi, csquare,
The problem you had with low grades really was not a fault of yours. The teachers you had probably did not recognize you had a learning difficulty anymore than you did. I taught children for over thirty years and still teaching adults. The knowledge of learning styles, learning problems and real learning problems are well understood today. In the past we who made the low grades were taught no differently than others, simply because teachers themselves knew so little about different ways of learning and different ways to teach some children and adults.
Above all if a teacher is kind and just children will learn with or without learning problems. They may not be able to read well but they will know how to love much!
Good luck, faholo

I am in the process of getting recertified to teach in the state of Georgia
csquare. Good luck and remember, a good man knows his limitations. You have just expanded yours and, as a dedicated learner, will always do so. Don't waste time on regret; it's counterproductive and wastes more time and energy. And welcome to Blogit, my friend.
