I remember those console TVs.
My parents kept theirs until they finally had to replace it in the early 90s.

No, I Get Rid of Them When No Longer Functional
I have seen some similar to those shown. Some are on walls these day and hang like art. There is always a new way. Nice post!

the thing with new tvs - even though they are more pleasing to the eye...
they don't seem to last as long as the old ones...

There are these things that look like TV's
kind of a flat screen and speakers...and they play a nature scene with some soothing sounds. They were selling for around $30 last Christmas at a bunch of the truck stops. I think each had only one scene though, it was like a multi-media photograph or something.

I had forgotten
the television had once been part of the livingroom or familyroom decor.

the large TV in my small apartment is never on. It functions more as a chair than a TV. LOL

I thought TVs come separate from their consoles because the furniture trade needs to make money. Lol.

My grandmother STILL has the old style TV that came with mesh covering the speakers and a wooden casing. The dang thing still works. I bet it's over 40 years old. She uses it as a night stand. I remember it from when I was itty bitty.

If my TV
in hospital was art, it was awfully small art.
I agree about hospitals being no place to be sick

in our house the focus was more on music so we had the big rca floor
console stereo. i still remember the way it smelled, not that i could really put words to it. musty maybe. i'm guessing your tvs have a smell about them too, am i right? heat through speaker mesh or something. it's so great that you held on to them, they look great.
