Cee ~
Guess I will be going to see the movie tomorrow. I'd read the book and I've always been disappointed when first reading a book and secondly seeing the movie for I'm always let down......you know the characters I've invented in my head never match up to the characters on the screen....yada, yada, yada. Anyway, as always a beautifully written post...and you are a beautiful open minded, knowledgeable Goddess and I am always enlightened by your posts.

I really don't see what the big deal is either, unless you're scared into believing a certain way and feel threatened by someone who challenges it.

We're going to see the movie this week end, and I am looking forward to it, since I enjoyed the book so much. As far as where Jesus was for all those years, I just finished a hilarious book called "Lamb" by Christopher Moore. It's written by Jesus' best friend Levi, known as Biff, who is resurrected by an angel to write the lost fifth gospel, which is all about those years prior to age 30. If you enjoy a good book and don't have a problem with the humor that "God" and Jesus inspire in this book, you should read it.

Mademoiselle-
I must admit, I did not have the stomach to see "Temptaiton" the movie of Christ's suffering. I love Mel Gibson in and behind the scenes, but I cry too easily at suffering of any kind, no matter what that suffering meant to mankind. Suffering and wailing in movies leave me drained and and a Parkinsonian mess! I'd rather celebrate Christ's life and would have liked to have known about more of his life than JUST ages 30-33. There was no "E" shows back in the day. (Weren't THEY the lucky ones!!) And now I'm being the silly one! Thanks for reading and leaving a comment!

Some of the issues you allude to are brought up in ...
"The Last Temptation of Christ", as well ... which is a far superior (and less silly) film.
