Justi, Nice meeting you! Nauticos, I think one man's
Fiction can be relatively palatable to another. That is what I meant by comparing 'truthiness'. LOL. I accept the explanation of why men of the early church had to degrade women and the role of women in culture. They were a reaction against the pagan female god, even as they illogically borrowed other symbols of the same pagan mindset.
They are simply the same fat overpaid, greedy child molesters that they ever were. Odd!

Whacky and Ms_Bradrock, thanks to both of you for reading. everybody start
Freaking out when you question how they explain their existence to themselves and each other. Cultural norms like religion are to kill for. But only fictions!

I am sorry that the doctrine you were raised on was not true or less true as you call it. This is totally lies. I have been reading and researching the Holy Bible for so many years. This book and movie is a lie a total lie. I don't want to be so rude and blunt. I am glad you enjoyed it but it is fiction complete fiction. It is also a trap in it's fiction. Truth is no in degrees but is or isn't! This isn't!

kingmi,
I am glad you enjoyed the book, but I hope you don't mind if I voice my dissent. I thought it was a poorly written bore, and I don't know what you meant by saying it was 'much truer than the Catholic doctrine' you were raised on. Truer? This is
fiction, man! Of course, people are free to believe anything they like and are comfortable with, but that doesn't necessarily make it 'truer'. (Which raises another interesting issue, namely whether or not truth permits of gradation. Isn't 'truer' a bit like 'more pregnant'?)

The DaVinci Code is such a hot topic.
I am intrigued to read the book.
It's comforting to know that we, rich or poor, famous or anonymous, are all subject to the ravages of time. Thank you for your wonderful post.
