It's very true that when you try hard to prove yourself worthy, it generally has the exact opposite effect.

   In one of Saint Paul's letters [The New Testament] he says we struggle with demons. [Not that we don't struggle with other things].  Do you think the Bible is wrong?

Avant, I've learnt it the hard way.

My efforts to prove myself worthy resulted in disesteem. (Maybe "disesteem" is an exaggerated word in my case. But I feel great pain, if not great disesteem, for my futile effort to prove myself as SOMEBODY. I would never do that again.

Your posts usually trigger a thought when I read them. This came to me, "we all represent three persons, 1) who we think we are, 2) who other people think we are, and  3) who we really are".
