Justi, the massive numbers came into play during the demonstrations.
All the dim bulbs in Congress saw was hundreds of thousands of potential votes, so a-pandering they went/ Never mind these potential voters were waving foreign flags and advocating mass violation of our laws and sovereignty. (But given all the legal blind spots in Congress, they probably didn't even notice that second detail.)

Thanks, Nautikos

And congratulations on a conservative win! We certainly do have more damn fools in power than you do, by virtue of us being a bigger country, but take into consideration also the magnitude of idiocy.

As for Bush, I'm also disappointed in him, but I'm not about to pitch him overboard as some conservatives are doing. He has problems, but he isn't that bad. He does much else that is spot on.

Corbin, this is no political novel.
Try the Marx Brothers for a better parallel.

Jane, I'll trade you Stabenow and Levin for DeWine and Voinovich!
At least your two are straightforward about who they are and what they represent, while DeWine and,  especially, Voinovich are RINOS (Republicans in Name Only). And to think I had just voted for DeWine in the primaries because his only opposition was even worse.

I'm thinking Stabenow et al would make wonderful
candidates for the Mexican Senate.  What say you?  I am embarrassed to think that she and Levin are my Senators.  They're doing a better job of representing Mexicans than they are Americans.

WOL
Another good post. One showing that our government considers legal to be what they need for their careers at the moment. Apparently Martha Stewart had no, absolutely no political power. It is scary to see what people can not get away with and what others can in massive numbers. This has passed a problem. It is an invasion. We have been taken over without ammunition.

Writer,
there was a time when I thought we up here in The Great White North had the market cornered on stupid and venal politicians. I now see that you have at least as many as we do, which is no consolation for me, since we too will suffer as a result! And as a conservative, I am most disappointed in Bush!

Writer....
I think some of our Senators have lost their minds......McCain might as well switch parties as well as Spector....and DeWine of Ohio?   How does he expect to win reelection if he alienates his base....it's just unbelievable.......like reading a bad political novel......
