- Go to Ward Churchill: One Big Eichmann
Sarooster,
I am really appalled by this situation!
Here’s what the review committee found, (and I am quoting Scott Jaschik in Front Page Magazine, May 17/06
“Among the violations that the committee found Churchill had committed were falsification, fabrication, plagiarism, failure to comply with established standard regarding author names on publications, and a “serious deviation from accepted practices in reporting results from research.” The committee also found that Churchill “was disrespectful of Indian oral traditions” in his writings about an 1837 smallpox epidemic.”
But what really get me is this: “While the panel was unanimous in its findings about Churchill’s conduct”, they apparently can’t agree on what to do with him, and two of them said, (and this is apparently a direct quote from the panel’s report) they fear dismissal would “have an adverse effect on other scholars’ ability to conduct their research with due freedom.”
This is utterly outrageous – these guys are saying, in effect, that to plagiarize and falsify is part of a scholar’s ‘academic freedom’ to do research!
Among other things, I will be sending a letter to the University of Colorado!

Thanks all!
Look, this issue is just common sense. This guy is rotten and wrong. He needs to go. That's simple and straight to the point. Who can defend this guy? How can he defend himself?

This is an excellent post. If they don't run him out of town they are not
the good people you give them credit for being. Be blessed.
