Corbin, you are exactly right. Thank you for reminding us of this...life is
so tenuous...so uncertain. I found this little poem years ago...author unknown: Yesterday is HISTORY.
Tomorrow is a MYSTERY!
Today is a GIFT - open it!
THANKS, CORBIN!

I have developed a particular distaste for news gatherers. Some of them are conscientious, but most are like vultures.

A tragic tale
But, unfortunately it rings very true. I've seen some strange stuff in my career. Some of it so bizarre, in fact, that it would not make a believable book.

Corbin.....
The new media does go a bit too far just to get a story....that's so sad! Good that you contacted the station to let them know that you found it distasteful to say the least! ...that's the activist in me talking. LOL

Rocky.....
That was the first thing that came through my mind when I heard the news on the radio.....
A sad sidebar.....one that angers me a bit......they didn't know who was under the concrete...so there was time for news people to arrive in their vans.......when it was determined who it was...a camera crew followed the police into the bank when they told the husband and they had the nerve to film and repeatedly played his reaction on their news shows.......I have called that station several times complaining and expressing my anger......

Wow Corbin......
What a sad story. It just goes to show when you time is up...it's up! A good reminder to be thankful everyday for what and who we have in our lives, it could change in a second.

My career was spent....well, most of it....in bodily injury claims....I could fill post after post with stories like this that I have participated in personally....taking statements, holding hands, hugging. I have ones that are funny, in that only true life could have concocted the circumstances....and ones that are so tragic that 30+ years later, I still tear up if I start to tell them....but they all taught me, from a tender age...taught me on a very real level, not just an intellectual one...the truth of what you write....unfortunately, most will read...sigh...and only get it intellectually. I do live life to the fullest everyday...some disapprove of that, thinking I'm not serious...but I am....dead serious....I just don't take myself so seriously because I know....at any moment....
snap!

Corbin,
It was Ralph Waldo Emerson who said, "It is not the length of life but the depth of life." You have shared a tragic story indeed, and my prayers go out to this family, but the message you leave for those of us here is one that should be heard. Blessings...
