majroj, I know, I am staying here at home, I know my limitations

and I know my qualifications. They are giving me DSL and a Vonage phone and I have begun to gather lists of prospects to cold call and there you have it. See my Abuelita's Start Up Post.

I love marketing and have updated my ancient knowledge with today's 'must knows', or at least as many of them as I could find, and I am ready to go as soon as the Vonage phone is in. I now have DSL and am living faster. I am even talking faster. Hyped.

I shall meditate on magic words. I will swallow an Imodium with a quarter cup of Pepto Bismol and chew on TUMS while making the first calls in the first weeks. Haven't done this in years and am a  bit  anxious.

But, all will be fine. I truly believe that I can increase American Legacy's and my revenues substantially. Plodding through prospect lists JOYFULLY. One call, one hour, one day at a time.

I will work for awhile like those oxen who quietly pull through fields for hours, like donkeys who walk in circles grnding wheat forh ours. I shall do it. I have told myself that I must do this for one year, until I find some reps to sub for me, good reps, and until I get a large enough account order from a Chain Store to make us for awhile. We cannot fill an order like that just now, but, I will build up as fast as they can make things.

I used to make tiny little turtles, about one inch tall, one at a time, in different poses, over and over and over by the thousands and then paint them over and over and over until they had tummy lines, white then turquiose then black eyes, and their back shells had patterns on them, by the tens of thousands, so I can make phone calls the same way. It's a repetitious ZEN thing.

Unless we go to war with China too, things should be fine.

Benzinha, I hvave am '80's book called "Your Moneyn or your Life"
Like most self-help books, written by someone who made their fortune by writing self-help books, but the premise is interesting..sometimes we wind up negating our efforts to earn moore when overhead overtakes income, and/or makes quality of life really bad. Their primary cases in point were working couples and people who allow the job to carry them into unproductive backwaters.

When you start to shake up the neighborhood, Deks, you never know

which pitbulls you are stirring up and causing to break their chains, jump their walls and attack strangers and neighbors.....

Seems to me, we are poking every dog through the fences and stirring things up.

majroj, we all need to retire and are all still busy, goshdarnit.

My factory people want me to move temporarily to Vista, Ca., for about one year or so, but, I cannot afford that place and they might pull me away from my stated goal and distract me with trivia and/or important things which are not my PORVENUE.....is that how we say that....not in my job description??

I am trying to figure out how to work with them from here. My sisters and I think that we have a good plan that just might work. Will tell it later.

Remember that book in the 80s or 90s entitled, something like, How To Retire While Still at Work...???

Darrke, I know, we need two more parties and much more discussion
wherein, people reveal their true thoughts and beliefs and political dreams and plans... so we can really pick someone closer to our own thinking...

Except I think it will be China, not Russia next time...

I agree.  I'm all for character, but more important is what do you believe, and what will you work to make happen?  (And can you make it happen?)

I'd like to do away with party politics and just elect people.  We are too polarized.  You get ONE issue that is important to you and then you have to buy into a dozen others you may even disagree with (and the candidate may disagree) but you have to go with the party package - all or nothing.

I know, gome, I read you blog posts constantly, tho not always

leaving tracks to show this. I also have bookmarked your eBay slaes site and watch that sometimes, too. Just curious about what you're doing and how you are doing.

As soon as I have more regular mainstream product out of the Chinese factory, I plan to devote my every waking hour to expanding my market nationally or even internationally. I love growing royalty checks and see my work as seeding the fields.

Good luck and good business to us both.

benzinha - yes, that's basicaly how it works

after making a few initial sales with "get in the door" margins, I inevitably train my client's people on how to purchase from me online. The entire premise actually works quite well and is growing at a remarkable pace. After making those few initial low margin sales and demonstrating considerable savings for my clients, I in effect cut them off from paper transactions. Making it clear that the savings can only continue to be had via online credit card purchases. This creates a number of efficiencies. First, deadbeat receivables are a thing of the past, my unpaid balances are now 0%. Because the client is paying up front, all financing expenses are now reduced dramatically as well. Further, because many of these clients do not have PayPal accounts at the outset, I can sign them up with my Paypal referral link to gain the small percentage of business referral fees that Paypal offers. This is actually a kick back on my own sales. (I love that part).

I won't bore you with all of the other places where I pick up nickels and dimes but will say that there is nothing remarkable or even new about what I am doing. After goofing off for awhile when I sold my business I had a lot of time to think. I wanted to start with the smallest and most expensive product I could find that was a consumable. Carbide inserts fit the bill nicely. Then using a dropshipping business model combined with all of the favourable elements of an eBay type of online sales model, I set out to piece it all together. Now it is at a stage of intelligently managing the growth. It is important to only take on sales and projects that meet the needs of the long term focus. It is equally important to always recognize exactly at what stage of development the business is at. It's a blast and I love every minute of it and I am sure that there are some aspects of what I am doing that would suit your business endeavours as well.

gomedome, as I understand it, you not only buy and sell but teach

your clients some computer skills, at least enough to contact you for resupply.

So, did you sell greeting cards door to door as a child, like I did? Did you sell lemonade in front of your house, or newspapers, what got you started with this Salesmanship uber alles stuff??

benzinha - my online business activities have certainly shifted in focus
It is a natural process however. Throw out that which is not working or not worth doing and continually refocus on those things that are working. eBay has been very good for me this year, as has been my online store. I'm beginning to make some noise in my industry, so much so that the competition has taken notice and have begun attempts to close wholesale supplier doors on me. This is also a natural part of the process, no established business is keen on helping new competition get established. The big wholesale suppliers who are selective of who distributes their products, love to dictate and close off oppurtunities for the little enterprise but once critical mass is reached, they form a line at your door.  I got my first call from a major wholesale supplier 2 days ago. Only 10 months ago they told me that they had no interest in having me distribute their products . . . it's funny how that works.

gomedome, I like your dream very much and see it coming, too.

I am keeping well and making more products for China to reproduce and then I will devote my life to expanding my market share and live off the fantastic royalties, NO?!?!?

I hardly have time to stop and read anymore and then freak when I do....Azur says she's leaving and where was I when everyone voted on her doing that???

How are you doing? I haven't been to check out your eBay pages in awhile, but did see where you had given up much of the viral stuff, info for sale and all that....tho' I see that you are still selling it and more things, besides.

If I had a minute, I would drive up to Canada to visit and to heck with this Blogit stuff. Hope that your family is well.....

benzinha - there is good news on the horizon
Gas will be so expensive eventually that we all will be walking or peddling. With this inevitable shift will come a simpler, less harried and healthier lifestyle. Okay so I'm dreaming . . how you been keeping these days?
