My sister has always been best friends (well, close) with her ex...
they just didnt fit properly as husband and wife...somewhat strange, but not uncommon, I guess..:)

...no I didn't see that one!   But, it's taken a couple of years for us all to be comfortable around each other-- but once we were, it's been really cool.

Actually, it's very common.  I have a friend who is still friends with her "ex" and he gets along with her current hubby too.
