I'm native from my mother. We are what my grandfather always called American mutts. There are so many cultures in my background, how do I chose which ones to honor and which to ignore? And I don't rightly fit into any of them. Being Lumbee, Ojibwe, and Cheyanne is not an easy thing to start with, then add in German, Irish, Scottish, and Welsh, and I'm an emotional time bomb that tends to bottle everything. Life is not easy as a breed, but I would not change a bit of me. If I did, I would not have the beautiful son that I have.

Thank you Darkmaster . . .
. . . I look Unaka too! But I have the high cheekbones and blue-eyes of the tribe, although I am a descendant through my Grandfather, who was born in the Siskyu Mountains of CA in 1899.

Thank you for that. It is good to know that I am not alone

in feeling trapped by the white man's world. It matters very little that I look white. My heart is not. I very much enjoy reading your posts.
