TAPS,

I sometimes get enough time to read and comment a little but not necessarily enough time to write.  I feel that it's important to read and comment on others' work because I think it is very important to support each other.   Thanks for looking for me and I am trying to get on more and post more.

jacenta,
It's a real shame, isn't it.

Blanche,

I think the ethenol would be a good idea if they can make it more efficient.  I understand that it is far less efficient than gas and it really doesn't cost that much less.  By the time you buy the ethenol and take into account how much less mpg you are getting, you may come out behind the eight ball.

There are ways to go that would decrease our dependency on oil greatly but the oil companies wouldn't like that and they own a few politicians.

Thanks for the comment.

RAME...
It is extremely hard on young families to pay these high prices, especially with young children needing so many things.  Seems everything cost an arm and a leg these days!

I see you out there making comments but I find nothing new here to read.   How are you doing, lady?

RAME, its so good to see you writing again.     An old joke just flashed into my mind from the 70's gas shortage days:

One old man says, "You got gas?'

The other old man, "Yeah, but I'm going anyway?"

I travel 90 miles to work right now, one way. Thank God I only work every fourth day.

RAME,
Greed doesn't seem to have any bounds.  I like the ethanol solution. Sixty Minutes just ran an episode on ethanol and the costs of conversion, it doesn't seem like it would be that big of a deal, if this country could find the will to make the change.
