Yes, leading them to independence is the plan, but it doesn't always end up that way. I see grown adults cowed by the parents whose responsibility was to enable them to live, but who won't let them.

Well, all I led were my children, now they're gone, guess that's all the leading I had to do.

I've always done things to the hilt. The biggest thing I think I'm here to learn is moderation.

Avant-Garde,
I do believe that it's up to the people, in this case, myself, being a party of one, to free myself, so that my a** can follow (that was an old 60s saying I love: Free your mind so your a** can follow). I try not to be a leader or follower, but just find my own path. It's not always easy, but it is the middle ground I try to find.

Well put. We should all become masters of ourselves, and lead ourselves out of the darkness. Our leaders should take the responsibility for encouraging this self-sufficiency. Will it ever happen? I like to be optimistic.

Great to hear from you, Pam! I'm glad to hear that you've settled in, and everything's going well. We are all fine. We are planning a move, too. It's to the North Carolina coast- Beaufort. We are all excited. Noah is getting huge. Thanks for the line. I hope to see your work again soon.

Avant-Garde,
I think all too often that the rules or proscriptions become another trap for leader and follower, like the Sabbath or eating rituals in ancient Israel, which were appropriate for the time, but make no sense in the modern era.
What matters is love, not the laying down of rules, and Thou Shalts and Shalt Nots, but doing whatever is needed in the moment, motivated by a love of fellow human, that is God is there, also.

very interesting thoughts germinating in your warm and wonderful heart. Hope Cameron and the boys are fine. Bet baby Noah is getting big. We're all settled into our new home in Ohio, and we love it. Of course, its spring and beautiful. I fish everyday and play with my grandkids...whats not to love:-) I will miss you but I'll be bak.
