I've been to two wakes in the past month
-one only yesterday. Last year I attended a very elegant wake with cocktails in a bar with a seaview. Everyone was instructed to wear bright things. It was only a shame the hostess could not make it.

Dear dear Muser
Must I subscribe again just to find out the details of the grand party we will have? The little paragraph they allow me to view is less telling than the comments. Leave it to you to do it up in grand style.... You are Something! I miss you!

Whacky, good decision! You'll think about it more when the time is right!
In the meantime, celebrate living! WAGE LIFE!

Thanks, blogflogger. I really do want to do this.
I have been to enough funerals to decide I don't want any more rituals of death. I can't make plans for others, but I can for myself. Life is uncertain...I better get on this asap! Thanks so much for coming back to read. I really appreciate it knowing your time is so crunched right now!

TAPS...I just don't get it! I remember as a child singing that dreadful
song about the worms crawling in and out, eating various body parts. NOWAY for this one is that going to happen; and embalming is almost as creepy...Thanks for reading...I'm glad we can make light of the inevitable!

I don't want to think about it. OK I'll be burried in the family plot.

Fabulous idea! I also want to be cremated and have given my son express instructions regarding this. I don't want a funeral, just a big party. There are some favorite songs I want played - Je Ne Regret Rien by Edith Piaf being one of them. I want my ashes sprinkled over the ocean - preferably a warm ocean. I've always been a bit of a gypsy and I love the ocean so I couldn't imagine my remains spending eternity locked in a box underground with no where to go.

I Love It, Muser. Great, HAHA
Since the major part of my family is horrified by the thought of cremation, I have decided to spare them their nightmares and go ahead and suffer through being enclosed in a black hole in the ground and being eaten by the worms. But, I insist on a closed casket funeral/wake and happy music.
