Well, I mean it was not “any number”….it was a finite number….but there were several….and it was intense…..and I love Latina women…. Samhain_Moon

Kingmi….I live in a very large border State where the Hispanic minority is almost the majority….I’ve had any number of romantic relationships with wonderful Latina women whom I loved intensely….somehow we just never got to marriage…..I have not yet given up on this…..it could happen……

I love Mexico, Mexicans and everything Mexican. I traveled in Mexico somewhat extensively when I was younger. I’m a little surprised that I never married a Mexican woman (of course no one can predict the future J ) I’m very familiar with many of the places and events you mention. This is a glorious tribute to an admirable people. Samhain_Moon

I suppose this poem could be summed up to say, we think we can pull it off
again, we did once before, because of who we are and where we are. Still celebrating 5 de Mayo. -- kingmi

We practiced in the foyer, enunciating, deep breathing, scratching out
Fifty-cent words and replacing them with words easier to say. At a little past 7:30 a call came over the intercom for help outside. Minor arson incident. Didn't hold us up.
At about 7:50 I told the principal maybe I should consider yodling the 5 de mayo poem rather than havibg little Latino kids reading it over the intercom. She gave me a blank stare. I'm kidding.
Kindergarten Cop-style, they read their parts loud and clear! Our 5 de mayo poem goes into the history book. We taught history and culture!
Thanks to everyone who read...-kingmi

I have already commented on the Spanish version but, I would like to know, "What is chido?" It is really the only thing that I did not understand. The poem is wonderful.
