I Have Not Seen a Hen Get Away With Pecking a Rooster Either
My thought then, is it a hen in disguise and not really a rooster?  Thanks for the comments!

SOPHISTIE
Well, I came from a large family where I was the littlest in the pecking order.

I'm confused--

but I know only old settin' hens are the old biddies,  and they will peck at your hand to keep you from taking her eggs.  And I've seen chickens that are henpecked.  The whole flock will turn on a particular chicken, and eventually they will pick out their feathers until they are dead.  I've seen happen to very young pullets and grown chickens.  The older they get, the more picked on they get (for some reason.)  I never once saw a rooster get picked on.  The old gals kept to themselves.
Just my observations.

Oh no.

Undercover peckers. What next?

By the way, I did not realize you were you, even though I had already ready things you wrote under the new name! If I had, I would have mentioned you changed names too...
