Yes, Gomedome, you do a fine job of providing humor with your
prolific and entertaining writing skills.

Sophistie -- that of course is the best policy but I have to add;
Easier said than done.
and the subject matter that one discusses in their blogs can determine the level of uncivil behaviour from readers.

I Do Not Take Comments Personally
I have had one that seemed to be a problem and just understand that I cannot control the thoughts or comments of others and know what to do about.

JanesOpinion -- that's good, It is nice to have civil dialogue with a
couple of bible thumpers.
I am nothing if I cannot be a source of humor to some people. I put an ability to laugh at one's self fairly high on the desirable character traits ladder. Right up there with always being a gentleman.

This auld sick broad is chuckling with laughter at Gome and Taps!
Thanks, Taps, for sticking up for me. As always you are a dear!
And Gome, I had a feeling you were not talking about me, although in paranoia, one wonders sometimes! I can relate to the feeling of being 90 cuz' today I am certain I'm pushing 80, even though my birth certificate tells me I'm a mere 39.
But regarding the overall tenor (sp?) of your blog, to some degree I can relate, although usually as it pertains to both politics and religion.

Sorry, gomedome
I should have known that you recognize JO as an intelligent and interesting commentor even though her opinions are different than yours. And, I am afraid that I did tell a little white lie. I do pop in and read your posts now and then even when she doesn't comment.

sannhet - same here, but of course a little different
My non belief has evolved over the years by degree and level of certainty. Starting when I was young and I used to mutter "aw c'mon" when the nuns tried to spin their bible whoppers as true stories, to years of study accompanied by the inevitable maturity those years bring. For me, this non belief became accellerated as I began to study native mythology. Native whoppers and bible whoppers have much in common. From historical references such as the great flood, to the simularities in many of the personas, while relying heavily on the supernatural for explanations of the unknown.

TAPS- I am not suggesting that I want all comments to go away
As you say, comments quite often are what bring people to our posts but sometimes, some commenting dialogue can become tedious. Such was the case recently when I had a young whelping pup telling me in numerous comments how to run my life. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I own suits older than him.

JanesOpinion - If I was speaking of you in this blog
I have changed your gender and made you around 15 years old. Either that or I'm pushing 90, though it does feel like it some days.

Gome -
My beliefs have definitely evolved over time, but more from a hazy understanding of what "God" is to a more clear - but by no means complete - understanding.

But...but....but...but...the comments you wish would go away are the only reason that I read this blog. I see a comment, usually made by JanesOpinion and then work backwards and read the post to see why she said what she said.

OK, finally, I'm done in. Got the message. The kid will leave.
I'll stop commenting.

Maybe.
(Sorry to be such a boor.)
By the way, this broad has "kept the faith" now for 33 years with no intent of wandering off.
