Darrke...
There are many economical cars these days, but when you look at any parking lot, you would think you were in Large SUV heaven.

You echo a sentiment I hear a lot of these days. Keep up the good work.

They didn't have hybrids last time I was car shopping, but my Geo Metro gets about 50mpg and I've never regretted the purchase, especially as gas prices go up. I'm completely spoiled and can't imagine driving a car that gets less than say 45mpg.

Hey, I drive about 20,000 miles per year!
Gas has always been an issue. Especially since the town I'm usually working has no open gas stations. Even though I carry gas gans with me to disasters, you still need a very economical auto.
I've been seeing the writing on the wall for the past 10 years. Something in me told me that we were going down this road as a nation and that we should buy economical cars, so that's what I've been doing.
Something's also been telling me that alot more Americans than ever before are going to be affected by a natural disaster or an act of terrorism over the next few years and that ALL Americans needed to begin to think in terms of "Survival."
That's why I write about preparing for disasters alot. Sadly, few people take it seriously. Maggie's husband thinks all the news coverage of disasters has been blown out of proportion. Can you imagine someone feeling this way after what happened to Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi these past two years?
What has to happen before Americans wake up?
