- Go to And You Thought Religion Was Merely A Psychological Crutch
No doubt about it, DarrkeThoughts. And now the GOP and the religious
right in this country are not only telling their congregations what to think and how to live, but they've amassed such a broad political base that they are now influencing policies that concern our civil liberties. Religion has always been used as a tool for politicians to gain whatever they wish from the masses -- and the GOP wants control. Make no mistake, the establishment of a government by religious zealots is upon us and we'd better wake up as a nation before they completely control not only the House and Senate and the Executive Office, but the Judiciary and the court system. It is very close to that now. But now matter, we'll all be going to hell on the road paved with the "good intentions" of the moralist judges of the extreme religious right.

I wonder if this was complaining about religion, or some advice for political leaders about keeping people happy? Seriously, I think many people have used religion (of various brands) to keep their people happy, and coerce them into following whatever path is set before them from war, to being happy living in poverty.
