I have so many thoughts on this it's simply not funny...
Thanks for touching on this great subject. I have to say that I see this mentality inscribed in women EVERY DAY. For instance, I know so many women who refuse to take care of themselves, I catch myself doing it all the time. They build their worlds around husband and children, they dissolve and time and emptiness wear on them until they carry themselves in such a way they're no longer necessarily physically appealing. They're good women, but they disappear. I'm afraid I'm not conveying my point thoroughly or articulately, but I see this thought deeply embedded into much of society. It appears in trace amounts in my own generation, but amongst certain classes and generations it's rampant and engrained.
Thanks again for examining this. Please go further on these thoughts. I'd like to see where you're going with this.
