Avant-Garde,
From being blinded by the senses to meditation, seeing with eyes closed, makes sense.  Maybe desire to know God is a desire of the soul and not of the mind.  Thank  you, that makes me think.

Thanks. It is good for one to take a moment to think and reflect. Our world is so hurly-burly.

Perhaps it is. I feel overwhelmed sometimes, and it's mostly from thinking I am in charge. Yet, if I really knew what I were doing, would I not be happy?

Closed eyes was referred to twice here, but in differing contexts. The frist refers to the blinding of the senses to our true nature, and the second refers to meditation.

Desire can stir the soul to experience all of what it truly is. The mind uses desire to find completion, which can never come about through division between what is and what should be.

it is true --
We start to die as soon as we are born - eyes closed, imagination, some things are best experienced this way.

Avant-Garde,
Closed eyes, as in dreaming sleep?  How do we desire anything without grasping?  Is a desire for God grasping attachment?
